I recently sat down with Lucas Aoun on the Boost Your Biology podcast to talk about longevity, healthy ageing and supplements. I'll be honest, being on podcasts isn't my natural habitat. But I think it's important for people to see who's behind the products they take, so I was glad to share the story behind Keeper.
This was a paid appearance, and I'm grateful to Lucas for having me on.
We covered a lot in 54 minutes: the longevity ingredients I rate most, why Keeper took two years to develop, how we test our batches, and where I think most people go wrong with supplements. Here's an overview, plus timestamps so you can jump to the parts you're most interested in.

Why we started Keeper
I've been into health and fitness since my early 20s, when I worked as a personal trainer. Back then it was all about performance. That changed in my early 30s, after a serious health challenge made me take my long term wellbeing far more seriously. I've spent the decade since researching health and longevity.
Over the years, my supplement cupboard got out of control. Dozens of single ingredient products, hundreds of dollars a week, and a constant wait on the next delivery. It felt like a full time job.
I wanted something simpler: a well formulated base layer with meaningful doses, no proprietary blends, and testing I could trust. I couldn't find it, so I started building it.
I didn't do it alone. Keeper is a family business, founded with my wife, Sabrina, and my sister, Georgia. While I focused on the formulas, we built Keeper together around a shared belief: supplements should be simple, transparent and made to a standard we'd be happy to give our own family.
The longevity ingredients I rate most
Lucas asked me which longevity compounds excite me most. My picks:
- Creatine: one of the most studied supplements out there, with growing research interest in healthy ageing and muscle
- Taurine: a long time favourite of mine (and Lucas's), which is why Complete Longevity includes 2 g per serve
- NAD+ precursors: NAD+ levels are known to decline with age, which is why NAD+ biology was one of the areas we looked at most closely when developing Complete Longevity. The formula includes NMN, NR and apigenin.
Lucas and I also got into spermidine, D ribose, and why the form of an ingredient matters. We deliberately selected forms such as ubiquinol CoQ10 and methylated B vitamins.
Two years of formulation
I thought it would take six months. It took about two years. I worked with longevity experts and experienced formulators, and we kept refining the formulas as new research came out. Because most of our products are powders, taste and mixability mattered too, which meant round after round of samples.
My test for every decision was simple: would I take it myself, and would I give it to my family? I stock my mum up, so the answer had to be yes.
Sourcing and third party testing
I wanted every ingredient from the best suppliers, down to small details like using organic berry extract. And I wanted testing that went further than the usual claims. We independently test our batches through third party laboratories for key quality and safety parameters, including heavy metals, microbiology and mycotoxins.
Choosing a manufacturer took around six months. We went to tender, sampled products from several manufacturers, and I visited every facility in person. You need to see it for yourself.
Lucas put it best during the episode:
"If I saw you cutting corners with the formulas, we wouldn't even be here today."

A four product system
I designed the Keeper range to work together, with each formula serving a different purpose and ingredient overlap kept to a minimum. I take all four myself.
- Complete Longevity: cellular energy and healthy ageing
- Daily Reset: liver and detox support
- Good Gut: digestive support, including next generation probiotics like Akkermansia
- Body Boost: muscle, hair, skin and nails
Where most people go wrong with supplements
There's no magic bullet. No supplement will make up for five hours of sleep a night. The fundamentals like sleep, nutrition and training aren't exciting, but they're the fundamentals for a reason. Supplements work best as a layer on top.
I'm also wary of influencers promoting products they don't take themselves. Lucas and I talked about how important quality and sourcing are right now, especially with so much noise in the market.
